Advertising and Direct Marketing Policy

Advertising and Direct Marketing Policy

SAER Journal requires advertising, sponsorship, promotional activity, and direct marketing to remain independent from editorial decision-making. Scientific content, peer review, and publication decisions must not be influenced by commercial or marketing relationships.

1. General Principle

Advertising and marketing practices at SAER Journal are guided by transparency, accuracy, editorial independence, and reader trust. Advertising or promotional content should not be confused with scholarly content or create the impression of editorial endorsement.

2. Independence from Editorial Decisions

Advertisers, sponsors, commercial organizations, and other supporting parties have no authority over manuscript acceptance or rejection, reviewer selection, peer-review reports, or editorial decisions.

Advertising, sponsorship, or another financial relationship with the journal does not provide an advantage in the evaluation of manuscripts connected with the relevant person or organization.

3. Identification of Advertising

Where advertising is displayed on the journal website or other publication channels, it should be clearly distinguishable from editorial and scholarly content wherever reasonably possible.

Advertising must not be presented in a manner that suggests that it constitutes a scientific article, editorial recommendation, or content scientifically verified by SAER Journal.

4. Acceptance of Advertising Content

SAER Journal reserves the right to decline advertising that is clearly inconsistent with its publishing objectives, scholarly standards, institutional reputation, or ethical principles.

Advertisements that are misleading, unlawful, discriminatory, exploitative, or contain unsupported scientific, health, or comparable claims may be refused.

5. Relationship Between Advertising and Scholarly Content

Placement of advertising near particular scholarly content does not imply that the advertiser supports the findings of the article or that SAER Journal endorses the advertised product, service, or organization.

The journal seeks to maintain a clear distinction between advertising content and independent scholarly content.

6. Sponsorship

Where an issue, event, or journal activity receives sponsorship, the relationship will be disclosed transparently where appropriate.

Sponsorship does not grant the sponsor control over editorial processes or published scholarly content.

7. Direct Marketing

SAER Journal may communicate directly with researchers concerning calls for papers, new issues, special issues, editorial developments, and other legitimate scholarly publishing activities.

Such communications should be accurate, proportionate, and non-misleading. Marketing communications will not use guarantees of acceptance, exemption from peer review, or unrealistic publication timelines.

8. Email Communications

Promotional or informational email communications from the journal should, where reasonably possible, identify the sender clearly and explain the purpose of the communication.

Where applicable, recipients should be provided with an appropriate method to communicate that they no longer wish to receive marketing or promotional communications.

9. Use of Personal Data

Personal data used for advertising or direct marketing purposes are processed in accordance with applicable data protection requirements and the journal's Privacy Policy.

The journal's publishing principles do not permit the unauthorized sale or transfer of author, reviewer, or reader contact information to third-party advertisers.

10. Third-Party Links

The journal website may contain links to third-party products, services, or organizations. Unless expressly stated otherwise, the presence of such a link does not constitute scientific or commercial endorsement by SAER Journal.

11. Removal of Advertising

Where advertising is subsequently found to be unlawful, misleading, ethically problematic, or inconsistent with the journal's publishing principles, the journal may remove the advertisement or request that it be modified.

12. Complaints

Complaints concerning advertising or direct marketing practices may be submitted through the journal's contact channels. Relevant content or practices may be reviewed where necessary.

13. Policy Updates

SAER Journal may review and update this policy in response to developments in publishing practice, data protection requirements, and advertising standards.
